Boo...Did I scare you?

I can't believe it's already the end of October, this year has flown by way to quick.  We are over at Mark & Heathers to have fun for halloween.  We're taking the kids up the street to get some candy (yeah I'll probably eat more than Kinsey but she loves it too) but mainly hanging at their house and setting up a tent with food and candy and getting to know people in their neighborhood.  I love days like this just getting to hang out with friends and get to know other people and see the kids have fun.

Time flies...

and I forget about posting blogs.  I realized today that I haven't posted anything since our first service on Oct 19.  Well it was an awesome day!  I have gone and watched other churches set up for their services on Sunday mornings and enjoyed doing it but that didn't compare at all to doing it for Reveal Church.  We had a lot of fun and energy from the start to the finish.  The overall day was awesome and I can't wait to do it again on November 16.
I challenge anyone to come out and be apart of the experience at Reveal Church.

First Service

Today is a huge day for us at Reveal Church.  This is another irreversible step we are taking in the journey as Pastor would say.  The past two weeks have been crazy, if it could of happened it just about did.  But at the end we are having service today and moving forward strong.  We are praying huge prayers and expecting God to take care of it all b/c there is no way we can pull this off without him.
Right now as i'm laying wide awake we have some awesome people sleeping in my house that have stepped up huge to help us out this weekend.  I can't say how thankful I am that they have volunteered to be apart of this first service in reaching people who are far from Christ and loving them.  We could never do it if people were not willing to step up and serve.  Thank you to everyone!

I've been thinking a lot about service lately and I'm probably going to write a post soon about serving.  Thoughts from other people and my own that have me really thinking about how we share the vision of Reveal Church and bring people on the team.

Catalyst 08

Wow the past couple of days have been amazing. We were blessed with tickets to Catalyst this year from FBCW and it was huge. I learned a ton as a leader and was fired up by a number of speakers. I thought Steven Furticks message was one of the strongest ones and that Andy Stanley is a freakin genius. I admit publicly my sin for slamming Andy in the past when I never took the time to listen to him or hear his heart. The man is a great leader and an amazing communicator.

Although I learned a ton and God challenged & broke me through Craig Groeschells message on having "IT" the biggest take away for me was being able to truly worship. Over the past year we have visited numerous churches trying to learn from as many people as we can before we launch out Reveal Church. In doing so I sit through most Sundays thinking about things that church is doing or not doing that we want to do the same or differently. This isn't bad but it has been draining not going in to church to worship with other believers in Christ. The last two days I wasn't there to learn about methods, principles, systems or setups I was there to grow, build relationships and worship. During the music worship I was freed up more than I have been in a long time and loved singing praise to God with 12000 other believers. I challenge anyone in ministry to make sure they are taking time away to worship with others and not focus fully on learning and leading but time to step back and worship.
