Freedom Church

What a freakin awesome day!  I got up at 4:45 got dressed and headed over to Acworth to hook up with Todd and the team at Freedom church.  I learned a ton today from Todd and their team. They unloaded the truck quick and got straight to work setting things up in the school, it was cool to see the school transformed from normal classrooms to a rockin atmosphere ready to serve whomever comes in the doors.
It blew my mind thinking about doing set-up like that for Reveal church one day but at the same time I am so anxious to get to that day and be open for people to come in and hear the life changing story of Jesus.
The Freedom band is one of the best I've ever heard in church before and they flat brought it today!
Mark did an amazing job this morning in both services and brought the word strong, clear and passionate.  But I will talk more about that in the next day or so as I'm so pumped to be serving Christ under his leadership.  God is going to rock Flowery Branch!
I want to give a huge thanks to Todd for letting me be apart of their morning.  As I said I learned a ton and Todd took plenty of time to answer my questions and teach me each step of the way this morning.  Thank you Todd and Freedom church for investing in me and Reveal Church.  I look forward to hanging out again soon.

Reveal's Logo

I was looking through the blog and realized I never posted our new logo for Reveal Church.  Ben McCloskey with Typical Tuesday helped design our logo with the help of our very own Heather Ayers.  I love the grunge yet clean look of the logo and look forward to seeing the logo all over the intersections of Flowery Branch when we launch out.  So here ya go check it out and let us know what you think.

Deja Vu

Recap of this past week.
I had an awesome meeting with Stephen Lowe on Monday, he is the executive pastor at Fusion Church.  God is doing great things over at Fusion and Stephen is a business genius I look forward to learning a lot from him.
I got off work early on both tuesday and wednesdays which killed my hours but gave me time to catch up on my reacding and get things organized on my computer which was definitely needed.
We spent last night with my parents and are about to go swimming today and then off to spend the night with Amber's parents tonight.  We came over this way for the weekend since Mark is speaking at Freedom Church tomorrow and I am going to learn from their set-up team.
Looking forward to hanging out with Todd and his crew in the morning and learning from them.  They have been a huge blessing to us at Reveal and Todd has probably helped me more than anyone on learning what it is I'm supposed to be doing.  I'll let you know how things go tomorrow.

Fathers Day

Without a doubt the greatest influence and the greatest hero in my life is my dad.  I have been blessed to be raised in a godly home by a man that loves Jesus and loves his family.  He taught me what it means to love people for who they are and see things for what they could be.  I try to talk to my dad as often as I can and he is the first one I call when I need help.  Dad, I love you and am thankful to call you my Dad!

Do you believe?

Boston Celtics made one of the biggest come backs in NBA finals against the Lakers last night.  Their coach Doc Rivers challenged his players to cut the lead to ten and continuously yelled at each one of the players "Do you believe?"  If you watched the game you could tell Rivers knew his guys could do it and was getting it in their head and challenging them to believe they could.  It was amazing watching the Celtics step up the defense and go straight at the Lakers for every basket.
What if we as Christians stepped up and started believing that we could do anything in Christ and dreamed the biggest dreams to reach people for Him.  I am being challenged with this more and more every day and I want to stop asking "Do I believe?" and start saying "I believe!"  What about you do you believe?  If so what are you dreaming and if your dreaming are you just believing or acting on what you believe?

Just Visiting

We are spending every weekend trying to learn from other churches as we work on starting Reveal Church.  Last week we attended 12 stone church down in Lawrencville, GA.  I really enjoyed being there and worshiping with them through awesome music and a great message.  Plus they have a freakin starbucks in their building, not starbucks coffee in their own jugs but the real deal business that is open all week long.  That's crazy!

This week we visited Free Chapel here in Gainesville and it was off the hook.  I was hoping to hear Jentezen Franklin preach but they started the One series this week an played the video from Craig Groeschel.  Wow, I have never been so challenged about the church being one across all denominations and views and working on bringing people to a relationship with Christ.  If you can download this message I challenge you to do so as it will rock your world.

Uncomfortable feeling

I got the opportunity to preach Sunday night at Gillsville Baptist Church while their pastor is out of town.  This is the church that is allowing us to live in their parsonage for the next 6 months or so while we work on getting the church started.
I was preaching out of Jeremiah 29 about how God has a purpose for our life and wants us to seek after Him.  I preached for around 30 minutes  but it seemed like an hour and when it was done I wanted nothing more than to rewind time and do it again.  I don't know what it was but I felt like I had done such a disservice to the preaching that it needed to be done again.  Everyone said they enjoyed it and my family said it was good, but of course they will say that.
As much as I enjoyed being up there and getting to share Gods word at the end it was one of those strange feelings like nothing really flowed and it was just a bunch of gibberish.  It's been two days since and I can't get this feeling to go away I want to preach in such a way that is clear and compelling and that completely honors Christ.  Maybe this is a good feeling that will only push me harder in preparation next time but for now I hate it and wish I could put my finger on what it was that was so off.

Deja Vu

I didn't realize it had been so long since I last wrote a blog.  Life has been crazy busy since the last time I wrote about our partnering with the library on their grand opening.

The library event was a huge hit we were able to help them make their day that much better.  I thought that there may be a few hundred people show up to a grand opening at a library but wow was I wrong.  The door count for the day was that there was more than 2,200 people their that day.  I couldn't believe it!  We had a lot of fun and got to meet a lot of people that day and get a better feel for the area God has called us too.  Through this we have found a need for our community that we hope Reveal church will be able to help fill.

I moved the next day to our new house in Gillsville and we are still unpacking boxes that have been in storage since 2005.  It was like having Christmas going through the boxes as I found clothes that I put away because of being so fat and now I can wear some of them again and get rid of some of these fat boy clothes in my closet.

Started a new job this past week for a brand new Walgreens distribution center.  I think it will be a good job to have while getting the church off the ground as I work 7-3 each day.  We will see if it is as good as I hope it will be.

We have had two informational meetings that have gone well and are starting to get people on our team to transform this county.

That's about it and this has been way to long for a post.
